Transparent pay-as-you-go pricing with no hidden fees. Network functions are included free; 10% off on annual commitments.

Overview

What is the Shared Private Cloud (SPC)?

The Shared Private Cloud gives small teams enterprise infrastructure without enterprise overhead. You get a private, access-controlled slice of GRN’s managed OpenShift platform — isolated at the namespace, network and identity layers — while sharing the underlying cluster to keep costs near zero.

Who it is for

Developers, startups and SMBs running lightweight apps, websites, APIs, and dev/test environments that need real cloud capabilities without managing a cluster.

What you control

Your applications, containers, routes, storage and scaling policies — through a dashboard, CLI, REST API or GitOps. GRN operates the control plane, nodes, networking fabric and security baseline.

Why it is different

Unlike a generic shared host, every tenant runs in a dedicated Kubernetes namespace with RBAC, private subnets and NetworkPolicy firewalls — isolation closer to a private cloud than typical shared hosting.

How it works

Platform architecture

Every GRN product runs on the same cloud-native stack — the difference between tiers is the degree of isolation and dedication of the underlying compute.

Applications & ServicesYour workloads

Containers, Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, KubeVirt VMs and serverless functions — deployed via dashboard, CLI, REST API or GitOps.

Platform LayerOpenShift / OKD

A managed OpenShift/OKD control plane provides scheduling, service mesh (Istio), ingress (Route), autoscaling, RBAC and CI/CD pipelines.

Networking FabricMetalLB · Submariner · Istio

Software-defined networking with load balancing, NAT, private subnets, API gateway, site-to-site VPN and BGP — all included free.

Storage LayerRook Ceph · OpenEBS · Velero

Block, file and S3 object storage on Ceph, local NVMe via OpenEBS, snapshots and Velero backup with cross-region replication.

Shared Compute FabricNetherlands · 100% renewable

Isolated namespaces with RBAC and private VLANs on a shared, multi-node cluster for maximum cost efficiency.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is “shared” cloud secure for production?
Yes. Although the underlying cluster is multi-tenant, each customer runs in an isolated Kubernetes namespace with role-based access control (RBAC), private VLANs and NetworkPolicy firewalls. Workloads cannot see or reach each other across namespaces. For workloads requiring guaranteed CPU or dedicated hardware, upgrade to VPC or DPC.
Where is my data stored?
Exclusively in GRN.CLOUD’s Netherlands-based, GDPR-compliant datacenters powered by 100% renewable energy. Your data never leaves the EU and is not subject to the US Cloud Act.
How does billing work?
Pay-as-you-go. Compute is billed hourly per instance (from €0.002034/hour for o1.nano), and storage per GB-month. Annual commitments receive a 10% discount. There are no per-feature charges — firewalls, load balancers, DNS, TLS and VPN are included free.
Can I run containers and Kubernetes workloads?
Yes. The platform is OpenShift/OKD-based, so you can deploy standard containers, Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests, and use built-in CI/CD and GitOps integration.
What happens when I outgrow the shared tier?
You can migrate to a Virtual Private Cloud (dedicated control plane and guaranteed CPU) or Dedicated Private Cloud (dedicated bare-metal hardware) without rebuilding your applications — they run on the same OpenShift platform.
